TURKCOMPOSITE: A STRATEGIC STEP TOWARDS A $7 BILLION MARKET GOAL

The rapidly growing Turkish composite industry has made significant strides in recent years, particularly in strategic sectors such as construction, automotive, aerospace, and defense. As of 2024, the sector’s total exports have surpassed $2 billion. Within the next five years, the goal is to expand the market volume to $7 billion. As one of Turkey’s key high-tech export segments, the composite sector is taking a major step to strengthen its global presence. Organized in collaboration with the Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association and CNG Expo, TURKCOMPOSITE 2026 – the most comprehensive international trade fair in the field of composite materials and technologies in Turkey – was introduced to the press with strong participation.

The press conference was attended by Kemal Darcan, President of the Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association; Cengiz Yaman, CEO of CNG Expo; Kemal Tunç, General Manager of Amiblu Holding; the Board of Directors and members of the Association; and numerous members of the media.

EXPORTS IN THE COMPOSITE SECTOR INCREASED FIVEFOLD IN THE LAST 5 YEARS

Kemal Darcan, President of the Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association, stated:
“The Turkish composite industry has gained strong momentum in recent years. Our sector, which is rapidly expanding in strategic areas such as construction, automotive, aerospace, and defense, is aiming to reach a market size of $7 billion within the next five years. Today, our industry stands out not only with its production capacity but also with its focus on design, engineering, and high-tech solutions. Turkish manufacturers comply with international standards such as EN, ASTM, and ISO, and have successfully positioned themselves in key markets across Europe, North America, and Asia. In addition to traditional glass fiber products, advanced materials such as carbon fiber-reinforced polymers, aramid fibers, prepregs, and nanocomposites are increasingly being produced in our country. These developments are elevating the Turkish composite industry from a follower to a leader in global markets. Surpassing $2 billion in exports in 2024 is a concrete indicator of this success. The fivefold increase in exports over the last five years reflects our collective vision and efforts. As the Association, we are committed not only to advancing our sector but also to representing Turkey on the global stage. We aim to bring the success our companies have achieved at prestigious events like JEC World (France) and CAMX (USA) to our own country with TURKCOMPOSITE 2026. We believe Istanbul will become a global meeting point for the composite world. Ultimately, TURKCOMPOSITE 2026 will be more than just a showcase – it will be a hub for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and international collaboration. With its renewed organizational structure, the fair will be a strong step in bringing the Turkish composite industry to the global spotlight.”

WE AIM TO BE ONE OF THE WORLD’S TOP FIVE COMPOSITE FAIRS

Cengiz Yaman, CEO of CNG Expo, said:
“We aim to continue leveraging our 20+ years of industry experience to serve the composite sector. TURKCOMPOSITE 2026, Turkey’s most comprehensive event in the field of composite materials and technologies, is preparing to open its doors to the sector and the world with a much stronger organizational structure. The fair will be held on October 21–23, 2026, at the Istanbul Expo Center, Halls 9–10 and the foyer area, covering 15,000 square meters. With the slogan ‘Meet4Composite,’ the event will offer a wide platform encompassing raw materials, semi-finished and final products, laboratory systems, and manufacturing technologies.

Our main goal is to be recognized as one of the five largest and most important composite fairs in the world. In line with this goal, we plan to host more than 150 exhibitors – 70% domestic and 30% international – and welcome over 5,000 visitors, 25% of whom are expected to come from abroad. Thanks to our collaboration with the Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association, visitor experience and international promotion strategies will be significantly strengthened, boosting the visibility and prestige of the Turkish composite sector globally.”

€60 MILLION INVESTMENT IN TURKEY

Kemal Tunç, General Manager of Amiblu Holding, stated:
“As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipe systems, Amiblu Holding GmbH is establishing a modern production facility in the Mersin-Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone on approximately 100,000 m² of land, including a 25,000 m² indoor production space. This €60 million investment will position Turkey as a production hub for Amiblu, thanks to its manufacturing capacity, logistics accessibility, export potential, and skilled workforce. This facility will play a critical role in our operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. It will also provide employment for 500 people. With this investment, we aim to export globally, including to the Far East. We also plan to contribute significantly to Turkey’s technological infrastructure with our R&D capabilities.”

A STRONG STEP TOWARD BRINGING THE TURKISH COMPOSITE INDUSTRY TO THE GLOBAL STAGE

Each year, the Turkish Composites Manufacturers Association and Turkish companies successfully participate in leading global trade fairs such as JEC World in France and CAMX in the USA. The current goal is to bring this global impact to Turkey through the TURKCOMPOSITE Fair, positioning our country as a regional hub in the field of composites. TURKCOMPOSITE 2026 will not only serve as a product exhibition but also act as a meeting point for knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and international cooperation opportunities. With its renewed structure, this year’s edition will serve as a powerful step toward showcasing the Turkish composite industry on the global stage.
